CompositionCAREMA® lime-clay priming plaster is a plaster mortar mixed ex works made of natural hydraulic lime acc. to EN 459-1, natural construction clay and grain-classified lime crushed sands. It is an ideal combination of the advantages of the natural binders lime and clay.
Properties• free of cement
• suitable for allergy sufferers
• highly permeable
• moisture- and climate regulating
• heat storing
• abrasion-resistant
• no mold formation due to high alkalinity
• proven to bind hazardous substances and odors
• low-tension hardening process
• designable in many ways
• exclusively consists of natural raw materials
ApplicationIn the interior, especially in ecological-biological building construction and preservation of historic monuments. On masonry of all types, concrete and plaster supports. May be used on all suitable substrates in one or several layers. Excellently suitable as priming plaster for our CAREMA® lime-clay fine plaster (2-layer plastering system for the interior).
Plaster substrateThe plaster substrate must be dry, clean and free from loosely attached particles. Always carry out plaster substrate test according to VOB/C and DIN 18350. Smooth substrates and concrete surfaces must be pretreated with CALCEA® lime bonding plaster. Any surfaces not suitable as plaster substrates must be spanned with plaster supports. Wet well strongly absorbing substrates in relation to their absorbencies.
ProcessingProcess with all commonly used plaster machines or by hand. After absorption, sharply level with metal straight edge or smooth with grated scraper. In case of plaster thickness of > 15 mm, it is compulsory to apply several plaster layers with a sufficient waiting period.
Special notesProtect fresh plaster against fast drying-up. Under no circumstances, carry out artificial drying using gas heaters or fans. The air- and surface temperature must at least amount to 5°C. CAREMA® lime-clay priming plaster shall only be used in the original state without additives.
StorageDry, if possible on wooden shelves and protected against draft.
